Insulated Red Alloy Wire, also known as Insulated wire is a wire that has similar functions as those of red alloy wires. The main advantage of insulated wires is that they are very precise. Unlike red alloy wires, insulated wires won't throw signals everywhere. They can also connect to bundled cables.

Mechanics

Insulated wires are a type of surface wire. Surface wires are the primary type of wire. They must be placed on a solid surface. They can be run up walls and such, but will fall if the block they are sitting on is removed, much like torches. Wires can also be run around corners or between edges. These are the types of wires that you will use most often. The following properties are shared among every type of surface wire.

Images Description
Wire walls.png Wires can be run up walls.
Wire edge.png Wires can snap onto other wires or devices within the same block.
Wire corner.png Wires will connect around corners to other wires or devices.
Wire cover.png Wire connections can be obscured by other parts such as covers.

Insulated wires are a special type of red alloy wire. Although they transmit signals in much the same manner, insulated wires will not power the block it is sitting on. It also will not be effected if their support block is strongly powered.

Insulated wires will also connect to bundled cables. Signals will be transferred to other matching colors connected to that cable.

Images Description
Insalloy conn.png Insulated wires will freely connect to red alloy wires or bundled cables. They can only connect to other insulated wires if they are of the same color.
Insalloy weakpower.png Insulated wires must connect directly to a device to power it. It will not weakly power its neighbors like red alloy wires would.
Insalloy strongpower receive.png Insulated wires won't receive power if their support block is strongly powered like red alloy wires would.
Insalloy strongpower send.png Insulated wires won't strongly power their support block like red alloy wires would.
