Insulated Red Alloy Wire, also known as Insulated wire is a wire that has similar functions as those of red alloy wires. The main advantage of insulated wires is that they are very precise. Unlike red alloy wires, insulated wires won't throw signals everywhere. They can also connect to bundled cables.

Insulated wires are a type of surface wire. Surface wires are the primary type of wire. They must be placed on a solid surface. They can be run up walls and such, but will fall if the block they are sitting on is removed, much like torches. Wires can also be run around corners or between edges. These are the types of wires that you will use most often. The following properties are shared among every type of surface wire.
Insulated wires are a special type of red alloy wire. Although they transmit signals in much the same manner, insulated wires will not power the block it is sitting on. It also will not be effected if their support block is strongly powered.
Insulated wires will also connect to bundled cables. Signals will be transferred to other matching colors connected to that cable.
